HandsOn Battle Creek mobilizes volunteers and connects people, information, and services to build a strong caring community.
The Community Volunteer Awards were established 32 years ago to honor outstanding volunteers from accross the community of Battle Creek. This event is about thanking one of America's most valuable assets - our volunteers - and calling the public's attention to all that they do to improve our communities. HandsOn Battle Creek hosts the annual luncheon event during National Volunteer Week. The submitted is the invitation that was sent to all who were nominated for the 8 different awards. The awards luncheon in conjuction with the invite and supporting materials creates an atmosphere that allows volunteers to recieve the recognition that they deserve and in-turn creates the drive and ambition for these nominees to get back out into the community and help create a better Battle Creek for all through volunteerism.
The invitation and response card were created using CS2 and printed by a local company. In addition to the two printed pieces, there was a black cardstock piece in which the invite and response card where slipped into. This created an elegant complete design that gave recipients a feeling of these awards being something different, something special, and something that would really showcase how important they are to the community.
