To stimulate an interest in and an understanding of Lake Tahoe's rich maritime history through the highest standards of historic preservation, innovative interpretation and public education.
This fourteen page booklet was designed and printed to commemorate the 2008 grand opening of the Tahoe Maritime Museum’s new facility in Homewood California. Originally established in 1988 with the mission to stimulate an interest in and an understanding of Lake Tahoe's rich maritime history through the highest standards of historic preservation, innovative interpretation and public education, the Museum was housed in variety of temporary venues before embarking on a very successful capital campaign that raised over four million dollars in order to construct its permanent home. This booket, designed in-house by Museum staff using a variety of Adobe products, celebrates the Museum’s history as well as acknowledges the contributions of numerous benefactors. Specifically, the use of Adobe products enabled the non-profit Museum to produce a high quality, professional piece at minimal cost. This piece was very well received by donors and the general public, and helped elevate the Museum’s profile and mission in the community. This better enabled the Museum to promote its innovative educational and outreach programs, ultimately culminating in the Museum receiving the 2008 Non-Profit of the Year award from the local Chamber of Commerce.
