Organization's Mission Statement: Meals on Wheels of Macon & Bibb County, Inc. is a service agency which provides nutritious meals and other services to help older and disabled individuals maintain a dignified and independent lifestyle. We believe it is critical to offer friendship, comfort and hope to those we serve.

Impact Essay: We implemented our software database CAREeVantage in April, 2006 and we utilized Techsoup to obtain the Microsoft software that supports the system. The number of home delivered meals that we serve to the homebound elderly and disabled has increased tremendously. For example, the number of home delivered meals served in FY2007 was 252,005 and the number of home delivered meals served in FY2008 was 302,177, an increase of 20%. Without the proper software, we would never have grown so rapidly. In addition to adding people in need to our program more rapidly, we can change the type of meal we serve to individuals in a timely, efficient manner to meet the clients' needs. As technology advances, we need to update our systems and software to continue to meet the needs of the people we serve. In addition to home delivered meals, we would like to expand our personal care homemaker services which requires additional database modules and software. We presently have over 200 people who have been approved for home delivered meals that we are unable to serve due to limitation of resources. There are more on the waiting list for the homemaker services. We need your help in updating our systems. Thank you for your consideration.
