Executive Overview

Family Service Toronto, Canada embraced full Microsoft computing environment and platform in 2003. This decision has led to improved user satisfaction, high level of staff morale using the resultant stable and secure information technology (I.T.) infrastructure and high level of IT staff productivity and a very low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) resulting from a drastically reduced support requests.

It has also strategically positioned the organization for high staff productivity as a result of staff having the tools to do their work at anywhere and at any time and reduced desktop downtime thus helping to achieve the organizations missions and visions and strategic objectives.

From a daily average of 24 user support call / helpdesk call per day to less than four helpdesk calls, the over 80% reduction in service call has not only improved staff productivity but has also helped the IT staff to concentrate on more strategic IT initiatives and to offer support services to our organization’s subsidiary Family Service Employee Assistance Program (FSEAP) division.

The unique Microsoft Home Use benefits that come with the Microsoft Software Assurance helped the organization to provide the tools needed for the staff to use the same technology at home as they do in the office.
