Redesigning our Community

Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
Our creative piece is our company, Redesign's, brochure. We have created an 8 page color brochure detailing our vision, our beginnings, our ongoing committments to our community through our projects in process. The images we have captured and included represent the tangible and intangible impact we have and were manipulated in AdobePhotoshop. The layout and graphic design elements of the piece were created with Adobe InDesign. Our goal was to establish and promote a professional image while providing valuable insight into the work we do. Promoting our professional image, and being able to capture the eyes and minds of Funders with a colorful and informative piece is vital to our fundraising efforts.
What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
Marketing our services has been challenging due to the scope and variety of our core work, declaring our mission and values, and in documenting and referencing examples of the impact our organization has had in our community. Residents and business owners often see and feel the results of our work, without realizing what part we have played. We needed to make our presence known. We needed to market our services. We needed to establish a public and professional image. But the cost of creating an image from design to print is expensive. Very expensive. Being a small Nonprofit means we have very limited advertising budget. With talented staff, and the Adobe software, we were able to save the cost of hiring an outside consultant, by creating our own literature.
How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
With talented staff, and the Adobe software, we were able to save the cost of hiring an outside consultant and were able to create this piece ourselves. We were able to include images true to our neighborhood rather than clip art. We distribute our brochure to all new clients, to local businesses and to local residents, and to our funders.
