- Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
- This is a newsletter that we created. It has been used to inform the community about special education issues, events and resources. This is innovative because using Adobe InDesign, we were able to create a newsletter using multiple borders, fonts, and other visual styles. We were also able to upload the entire newsletter to our website simply by converting the InDesign file to .pdf, which saved us time and allows us to reach people that are not currently on our mailing list.
- What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
- We are working to address the issue of getting parents, professionals and other stakeholder up to date information on various aspects of special education, such as classroom regulations, due process, and advocacy.
- How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
- The newsletter helps us to disseminate information on a platform that is accessible to everyone, including those who do not have a computer and the internet.
