Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
We wanted to stand out from the crowd and do something new for our end of year appeal donation letter in hard copy and in an e newsletter. This pieces was mailed and emailed out. It was very different from past appeal letter which talked about the organization and our programs, this centered on just one client. The envelope was also very eye catching - it looked like an old photo clipped on the envelope. This was not the traditional letter ask and would have been impossible to create without adobe products.
What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
To stand out and raise more funds than the year before for End of year campaign. Also we have multiple programs and this was a first by really concentrating on just one client and one program area. Could not have been done with our products purchased through techsoup. We do not have the budget for a professional designer, we did this design in house with adobe products and our part time ( 8 hours per week) graphics staff person who is a full time grad student pursing a Masters Degree in Counseling.
How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
It turned out great and we recieved almost 15% higher total dollars raised and more donors in 2009 EOY campaign compared with 2008. It worked! We recieved many compliments on it.
