- Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
- Our brochure is a guide to places to walk and explore in Lawrence Township, New Jersey. The brochure, the first such guide for Lawrence, was distributed by mail to all residents. It is also available from our web site. It has been very well received and continues to be in demand. The guide provides trail maps, photos, and information on access and on the nature of the trails. In addition, we also "tell a story" to put the trails into a historical context. We believe this combination of maps, information and history to be innovative.
- What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
- We are often asked about places to walk and enjoy the natural beauty of our township. It was apparent that most of these places are unknown to most residents. We published this brochure to provide a universal answer that is readily accessible to everyone.
- How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
- Our mission includes getting residents out to walk and enjoy our trails. The brochure allows us to publicize our trails in a manner that is accessible to all.
