Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
Danbury Area Computer Society website is the online information site for our members. We offer classes in "how to" that cover various computer related topics, including programming as well as learning WYSIWYG using multiple Adobe produtcs. The website keeps our members updated with schedules, reviews, events etc. The site was built using Adobe DreamWeaver, and DreamWeaver is used to keep it updated. Photoshop is also used to edit and prepare images for the website.
What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
The DACS organization strives to provide support and education to our members. The structure of our website is also occassionally used to demonstrate and provide education about web design, and best web design practices. Both DreamWeaver and PhotoShop techniques and demo's are regularly shown at our special interest groups meetings.
How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
During the design process of our website, the web masters used the DreamWeaver Spry system to help us create the flyout menus. Pure CSS was not reliable enough, but with Spry it works perfectly.
