- Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
- The Community Center provides a large amount of services from food and clothes distribution through their Mustard Seed Food Pantry to computer classes at the center's media lab. They also keep data and numbers for every person that uses those services that they tally at the end of every month. Although the numbers are very impressive, often its hard to connect those numbers to real impact. As a result I decided to create an infographic using Adobe Illustrator to help get across the actual impact the Community Center has on the gulf coast region.
- What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
- Trying to connect possible donors, volunteers, or future advocates with the real effect the Community Center of St Bernard has on its community. Although the numbers are impressive, sometimes a visual is needed to really get your point across.
- How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
- My infographic has been used for many grant applications.
