- The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy is a private, non-profit organization that is the steward of the parks on behalf of the public. We raise private and public funds to support the parks, aspiring to excellence in design, operations and public programming. We have a commitment to preserve Boston’s proud reputation as a walkable city. We work to ensure that the Greenway is a thriving, and welcoming public amenity. Inspired by the life of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, the Conservancy’s approach to everything we do blends the practical with the principled. To support public health and maintain the newly restored water quality in Boston Harbor, our park operations professionals use methods and products that are environmentally responsible and avoid the use of toxic chemicals. Also, our skilled and dedicated workforce who care for the parks and welcome more than one million visitors each year includes individuals with disabilities employed by Work, Inc. and soon will incorporate Boston teens and young adults in the Conservancy’s Green and Grow youth workforce development program. For public programs and events, we connect with both well-established and emerging arts, cultural and community groups as partners and collaborators. We designed a poster for "Earth Hour on the Rose Kennedy Greenway" in Boston, Massachusetts. We turned off the decorative lights for the event which was coordinated with the dimming of Boston's most famous landmarks. By participating in Earth Hour, the Conservancy has strengthened it's mission by building awareness to climate change - the purpose of Earth Hour - and by building awareness to our commitment to sustainability. This poster was displayed at multiple locations along the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
